Artist Biography
A Native of California, Melitza's Love of Art was influenced at an early age
while growing up in San Francisco in the 60's. Beginning with the original
flash art created for music venues at Fillmore West & Winterland Arena's
Located in Lower Pacific Heights. Melitza was captured by color & the
Popular "Classic" Posters announcing tour dates for the likes of Jefferson
Airplane, Santana, Joplin, Traffic, Hendrix & Humble Pie. Driven by those
intricately detailed abstracts exhibiting bold-color, flowing-shadows, shapes
& faces, Melitza began drawing with pencil, pen & ink & eventually lured
Acrylic onto the pallet. Born Third Generation Greek-Portuguese, she was
highly encouraged by her parents & home life of seven siblings. To help
develop her unique sense of style in drawing & painting, Melitza studied Art
& Interior Design at San Mateo College. She also participated in writing
buffets & ceramic clubs. With a passion for travel, she has visited, among
other US City Galleries, Museums of Greece, France, Italy, England, South
America & Mexico. Melitza moved from Nor Cal to So Cal in the 80's, where
she resides & continues to expand her artistry.
"My art is partially about mood; my current mood, one passing or something drawing me. With this collection my focus is creating pieces that lend a touch of lightness to reflect the Goodness of Humanity.
